Photography Course - Iconic Belfast

The theme for this week's photograph was Iconic Belfast - I decided to take photos of Parliament Buildings - very iconic and also convenient !

this is the one I sent to the tutor but I also took others which I was pleased with.  The grounds in Stormont Estate are lovely, we don't appreciate them enough.

Mickey Mouse - Waterfront Hall

My Christmas present to my littlest nephews - Mason and Ellis included tickets to see the Mickey Mouse Rock 'n' Roll Tour at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast.

On arrival I took their photos on the sheep sculpture just outside the Hall.
Mum came too.  We were all very excited awaiting the start of the show.

It was fab - full of action and fun and jokes.  We all loved it and finished the trip with tea at McDonalds, of course.

My Birthday - 22 April 2012

It's become a tradition for my family to come to my house to celebrate my birthday, this year it was on a Sunday so a perfect day for everyone to visit.

My nephews and niece are great company and it is another opportunity for them to get together.

I made stew for the kids by special request and

I made baked potatoes with chilli, curry or bolognese filling for the adults and the family demolished them!

My sister bought me a birthday cake and it was delicious and served with icecream, it was a perfect dessert.

Love this photo.

Thank you everyone for your beautiful pressies and for coming to my party!

King's Hall Belfast - Craft Fair

Just a quick post about the April craft fair - as usual the NI Beaders' Guild had a stand there.

As always there were beautiful pieces on display.

For the first time I was the tutor at one of the Guild's workshops and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  It is only for an hour and my project was a simple Ogalala style bracelet made with size 8 and 11s and only two rows instead of three.  Everyone seemed happy with their finished piece.

I love going to the King's Hall, I love to see all the different stalls under one roof, I thought there were less stalls this time but still worth visiting.

Operation Tackle that Bead Stash - April Challenge

For April, the challenge is to use citrus colours and a button - I made this -

Citrus colours are not ones I would normally choose but I really like this piece.

It is a flower bud design and I bought a perfect button in the Bangor Wool Shop as a fastener.

Very pretty and summery - what do you think?

Folksy Friday - 6 April 2012

As a child I had guinea pigs as pets - one called 'Pet' who was pregnant and went on to have 3 babies - I named them Winking, Blinking and Nod!

I'm always amazed at the different items available on Folksy and when I came across a shop with gorgeous guinea pig and rabbit pictures, it sent me on a search for more.

Did you have any pets when you were a child?  Leave me a note in the comments, I'd love to hear about them.

Dundonald Library

In April I am exhibiting my bead weaving jewellery in the Dundonald Library.

The glass case was a different style and it was interesting arranging the pieces on two broad shelves, I think I maybe need to make a few more for the bottom shelf.

I also included some earrings in my display this time, and invested in display sets for my flyers and business cards - looks very professional - what do you think?
