Folksy Friday - 6 April 2012

As a child I had guinea pigs as pets - one called 'Pet' who was pregnant and went on to have 3 babies - I named them Winking, Blinking and Nod!

I'm always amazed at the different items available on Folksy and when I came across a shop with gorgeous guinea pig and rabbit pictures, it sent me on a search for more.

Mother's Day is fast approaching.  My mum has already received and enjoyed her pressie - a fab night out to see Strictly Come Dancing at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast.

However, I have chosen beautiful items from Folksy which any mum would love.

Folksy Friday - 24 February 2012

It's birthday week for my niece and one of my nephews, born on the same date but in two different families and 7 years apart.

I have a lovely memory of telling my niece she is my favourite niece - she gave me a funny look and said but 'I'm your only niece' and I replied 'but you are still my favourite' and she giggled!

Kelsie is a pink girlie and the bag would suit her perfectly, handy for school lunches or shopping trips, she has 3 rabbits so would love the rabbit mug and I think the pencil case is very pretty.

Nephew Ellis would love any of these bright pressies and I love the idea of personalising with his name.

Preparing these Folksy Friday posts is a fab way of finding new shops.

Christmas Pressies from Folksy.com

Christmas 2011, I bought several presents from Folksy -

the soap and sign for my Dad - The sign is already on the garden shed, and dad said he would be putting the soap in his little outside cloakroom in the garden, which he uses when working in the garden - perfect !  Just what I thought he would do.

Crayons for my littlest nephews, each letter of their first name in a different colour of crayon.  They didn't believe they were crayons at first - thought they were too nice to use !

A jar for each nephew and my niece with their name on it, I put their favourite sweeties in each jar but thought they could use them for storing coins, tiny toys, necklaces or hair bobbles as appropriate!

The wooden decorations I used as gift tags and suggested to the recipient they were also a decoration for their tree.

The little bracelet kit was part of my niece's present.  We'll have fun making it together.

Folksy Friday - 30 December 2011

I'm going to a NewYear's Eve party tomorrow night at the house of my friends Karen and Stephen.  They host a lovely party every year - beautiful home, comfortable sofas, huge bowl of punch, cocktails, delish party food and great company.

I stay over at Audrey's house so a little alcoholic tipple can be enjoyed !, Karen, Audrey and I have been friends for 20 years in December 2011!
I chosen Folksy items this week suitable for a house party.

I love the badges and tiny notebooks, it would be a lovely idea to give one to each guest, along with the party bags.

I love bunting, I think it really helps to create a party atmosphere.

The wine glass charms are cute and useful, when mixing and mingling at a party it is so easy to set down your glass and then either forget where it is or be unsure whose is whose !  These charms are listed in my friend Claire's Folksy Shop - one of my best crafty friends !

The New Year card is lovely, an idea to give to the hosts.

What are your plans for New Year's Eve?

Happy New Year to you all !

Thursday, 17 November 2011

It's my lovely cousin, Michelle's birthday this week, I've chosen suitable gifts for her or for a November birthday.

The print of the girl is just beautiful and definitely resembles Michelle.  Michelle has a little Yorkie dog and the cross stitch picture is fab.
Chrysanthemum is the flower for November and Topaz is the birthstone for the month.  (The cuff is one of my creations !)

Scorpio is the zodiac sign for November and I loved the cupcake card.
